Republican Greg Wallis is now leading Democrat Christy Holstege in the race for a seat in the California Assembly. Holstege had led since Election Day, but fell behind by 53 votes in the latest tallies released Wednesday. She has 69,878 to Wallis' 69,931, though thousands of votes remain to be counted. The 47th Assembly District covers parts Riverside and San Bernardino counties. As of Wednesday, Holstege was still winning the Riverside County portion of the district with 58,535 votes to Wallis' 49,484.
