It's that special time of the year in the desert when the weather starts to creep into the triple digits. Most parts of the Coachella Valley could hit 100 degrees for the first time in 2023 on Monday afternoon, according to Brandt Maxwell, a National Weather Service meteorologist. The last time it reached 100 or higher in the area was in October, he said. The heat likely will continue into Tuesday before cooling off slightly later in the week, just in time for the opening day of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival in Indio on Friday.
