Voters in Palm Desert are weighing in this election on whether the city should have five council districts, a debate coming just two years after another shakeup as the result of a voting rights lawsuit. Measure B is advisory, so the city council will make a final decision after Palm Desert residents have their say at the polls. Only residents of District 2 — which includes roughly 80% of the city's population — are voting on councilmembers this year.
